Trick flow heads?

Which I's better trick flow or edelbrock. I read the last post on heads and i understand edelbrock isn't that grey but i need heads fast ( i would go LE but it's takes to long to get them 3-5 weeks)
Btw i was giving my car a wot run and right around 4k it took a ****. I started hearing noise like metal hitting metal. It cranks but doesnt start. The motor just keeps spinning when i try to start it. I also heard a pop when trying to start it and a lil white cloud followed the pop any suggestions? ( timing chain maybe?)

TrickFlow, that's what I'm upgrading to. Edlebrock a big thumbs down.

If you just blew up your engine, then send your heads off for porting cause you'll be awhile for the motor rebuild.

Re: Trick flow heads?

I would just run stock heads for now until you can afford big boy ported heads (if this is a performance build). I'd never throw on as-cast aftermarket heads when ported stock castings outperform them.

Having said that you don't say what kind of build you're talking about here. Stock? Performance? The more details the better.

Re: Trick flow heads?

Well I do have peformance in mind i always will lol
If the block I's fine i just want good heads to make good power and ones that can handle 100 shot or a super charger. If it's just the chain and all valves and pushrods are fine then I'll stay with stock till i save money for a good build. If heads are shot and block I's fine i want good heads that will give good power and that can handle a 100 shot if pistons are shot or bearings then I'm going 383 with LE2 heads and cam ( future 100 shot or s/c)

Re: Trick flow heads?

Being in a hurry and wanting good power/perfomance don't mix. Take your time and think it through.

Re: Trick flow heads?

if you are going to rebuild later, I'd say just grab a used motor and drive around on that. Meanwhile build the bad motor and go from there.
