IMO Mint you need to get that car to a dyno, get the timing optimized, fuel, spark etc, with that alone I wouldn't be surprised if you pick up what you should have @ 6psi, and have a huge net gain of HP after it's all dialed in right. Otherwise your car will probably never run the way you expect it to.
A better set of heads with a stock cam would get him better results probly with the supercharger then stock heads and stock cam. If you are planning to go with a cam later on then go for it. But I am curious as to why you dont want to just go ahead and change out the cam too.

I was originally asking the question how much time does it take to swap the heads if the new ones came assembled already. I believe my problem is somewhere in the valve train and if i can get a set of good heads for under $1000 and use them after i rebuild then i don't feel its a waste of money. Weather i would make any more horsepower with a stock cam and better heads is uncertain but if they were the problem i would be in the 12's like i want and not the 14's or 15's like right now. Maybe a set of reconditioned stock heads would work for now.

Get that thing on a dyno and read the live data before you start spending $$$. Heads wont hurt your combo though.

I missed the part about the blower. I wouldn't hesitate to put on the TFS heads then to help lower the c/r. The time it takes will depend on your skill level and how quickly you work. If you set aside a weekend and don't run into any problems or forget any parts there is no reason that you shouldn't be able to do it in that timeframe.

If you believe you have a valvetrain problem, why don't you take it to someone who knows what they are looking for? Simple as that, I would do it just to know what the heck was wrong with my car...Then I'd get it dyno tuned, because I guarantee you will see the HP you should be seeing.

The TFS LT1 heads are available bare ($969 at Summit) or assembled ($1,409). They also now list an assembled version with 55cc chambers, for non-blower aps.

Why play "parts replacement roulette"? We condemn the dealers for doing that all the time. Dropping $1,400 on a set of heads will not solve your complete lack of power is not a good plan. Even thought the TF's flow better than stock heads, you could achieve the same flow by simply porting the stock LT1 heads. Yes, the TF's will offer more potential for high end porting, but that will add substantially to the price of the TF's.

Simply bolting the 6# blower on a stock LT1, with no other changes should have given you 400 flywheel HP, and a setup that can easilly run low 12's. Your track results (high 15's) indicate you are making less than 200 HP. You need to find the problem, not spend large amount so cash on "parts".
