Question Trick Flow elbow

Just put my trick flow elbow and slp cai on the car today. The problem is that the elbow doesn't line up at the tb, a little too far to the left. I can't seem to get it to adjust closer. Has anyone else had this problem?

Here's a pic: You can see where it's shifted to the left.

Hmmm...I didn't run into that problem. I have a K&N FIPK. I've heard of people having to modify and trim pieces when using the SLP or the Trick Flow, so you might have to work a little bit to get it to fit right. I really don't know what to tell you though. I haven't seen the black TF elbow yet, but it matches well with that CAI. I plan on purchasing a SLP CAI as well later and getting it ceramic coated to match mine.

yep, it happens all the time. You're going to have to cut it in order to fit...

That sucks

That was the last thing that I wanted to do, knowing that it is only off a little.

What I did was cut down the rubber things it came with. Then I put the fasteners on the rubber and lined it up. Then I just grabbed the whole thing pushed it forward and to the right to center it and then just tightened the hell out of the fasteners, seems to work fine for me. I actually did this the other day, when I realized the first time I installed the elbow it was off center.

I had to cut 1 inch off mine to line up. Looks great when done.

I used like 4 fastners on mine. I took one and put one end on the pass side of the elbow and going around to the driver side of the TB and tightened it until it almost lined up about 1/16th inch off.

I also had to cut 1" off the Polished Vortech. They even tell you in the little sheet that coems with it if you have a MAS. finished product can be seen in the sig link. It was still a little off (maybe 1 CM MAX) but nothing noticeable.

Seems like you'll have to cut part of the elbow, it might help if you cut a part off the rubber connectors... that way you might not have to cut as much off of the elbow. I have the K&N FIPK and the polished vortech elbow. Mine fit perfectly with no cutting.

My TRICK FLOW "squeaked" on, have about 1/16 " between MAF & elbow. Will be triming it when the weather warms up. Did have to trim the rubber about 1".
At the same time that I put the elbow on I installed my GMS MAF which I had recalibrated for CAI. Then drove about 100 miles to let the computer settle down. Then I stood on it in second gear while in drive & the car just went nuts

So maybe I'll just leave things as they are?
On the OEM elbow I had a Thunder Racing block off plug in the donkey dong hole. Note spray both the rubber sleeves inside with Silcone spray for an easy install.

I trimmed the elbow on the MAF end by about 1-1/2". It wasn't even close with the SLP CAI. I can't believe how much easier it is to install than the stock piece. I fought for an hour to get the stocker on without the bottom folding over on the throttle body and leaking. The Trick Flow went on in seconds. Plus, it looks SOOOO much better, especially in black.

My stock one folded over all the time now no problems. Trick flow looks so much better then the plastic crap.
