Transmission woes (Still):(

I just had the tranny rebuilt in the 93 again after only 4 months. I was driving it around and parked at work I went to get out and the car started to roll backwards

I crammed my foot on the brake and looked at the shifter it was in Park, and now I have to pull the E-Brake to keep it in place.

After work I went to start the car, it was hard starting and then I realize the transmission is in PARK on the shifter but it is in REVERSE.

So now here is the scoop the car starts in Reverse EVEN though the shifter is in Park, and if I shift to reverse its like there isn't anything there the rest of the selection of gears is fine from N to 1.

So does this sound like a shift cable problem or what? This is really starting to pi$$ me off.

I figure it will havee to go back to the trans shop but I'd like to have a clue before I send it back his way

my shift linkage came loose and did the exact same thing. put it in park and start rolling back. one of the bolts had totally fallen out and the other was loose. should check that first b4 you freak out.if you recently changed the fluid you may not have those two down enough
