My car hits the rev limiter about 2-4 times before shifting about a 1/3 of the time. I have a 94 z28 with an automatic trans. Any Ideas?

 

Transmission is probably Starting to go...how many miles on your car? That was an early symptom before my tranny let go..

 

Your 2-3 clutch pack is pretty much smoked . Its time for a rebuild and soon or else it might leave you stranded somewhere .

 

If you have a tuning computer like the hypertech III then you can adjust the shift stiffness. If you turn it all the way up you should get a little more life out of your tranny. (I little harder on engine and rest of drivetrain.) The clutches are slowly toasting them selfs.

 

That happened to me, I was going up hill and it gave out, I was in the middle of a busy intersection "revving" like crazy, because Drive magically turned into Neutral ...My buddy had to push me to the side...I was lucky he was with me
