1994 black lt1 z28 automatic transmission
My transmission died on my friday finally. i had already bought a god used one that had 60k miles for 400 bucks out of a trans am. I have both the transmisisons sitting next to each other and was matching everything up and making sure its going to work. Everything looks great but the one i bought has a big "K" on the side and the one that came out doesnt, i was just wondering if that means anything ??
thanks

The K case is often found in truck applications as well as the "B" bodys. I'm not sure how many of the F-bodys got the same case. Is this a '94 trans? The '95s are different electrically, as are the '96 and '97s.

The K case is typically referred to as the truck case. I've been told that is a better casting than the non-K, but I haven't verified.
A friend tried a '96 transmission in his '94 and it worked fine (or maybe that was a '94 trans in his '96?)
