I have a 95 formula and the tranny has been heading south pretty quick. I posted a thread looking for a new (for me at least) and I had one response that I am interested in. Its been rebuilt 2k miles ago with kevlar clutches and bands.....but its from a 94. Ive been told that the 94's and 93's can be interchanged but the 95's are on their own and arent interchangable, is this true and is there any way to get around that?

93's had the 4L60.
94-02 had the 4L60E.

It should be the same.

You can also use a 93 4L60 as long as you have your PCM programmed for it.

 

They are not completely the same 1994-1995. In 1995 they went to a PWM solenoid for TCC lockup. I am not sure that would be the only thing you would have to change. There are some tranny people on the board at times that should know.

 

so is this solenoid something that I can change when I get the tranny or not? I really want to get this transmission, if theres anyway to switch out some parts to make it work then Ill be glad to, or even if theres a way to program it then that would kill two birds with one stone. thanks guys, keep it comming
