Want to convert it to a manual. I have information on how to do it but curious on what transmissions I can use. Is it possible to put a 6 speed tranny in mine from a 95 v6 camaro . Or would my rear end need to be regearsd along with rewiring?

 

you won't need to regear anything but it def isn't the same gear ratio the 6 speeds have in the back.


why are you wanting to convert?

 

Don't the V6s have 5 speeds? You wouldn't want to do that.

 

This is the parts list my mechanic/buddy gave me when I inquired to do it on my '94 Z28 a few years back.

-Transmission with torque arm mount shell (LT1 only, LS1 won't work)
-Bellhousing with slave cylinder adapter (LT1 only, LS1 won't work)
-Clutch, Pressure plate, throwout bearing and pilot bearing (I suggest a Spec stage 2 or 3)
-Flywheel
-Flywheel bolts and pressure plate bolts
-MM6 crossmember
-Clutch slave cylinder and master cylinder with resevior
-Pedal assembly
-Lower shifter boot (mounts to the floor)
-Upper console shifter boot and plate
-Shifter with stalk and handle
-New connector for the vehicle speed sensor
