Trans temp gauge...Pressure port??

I'm looking to install my trans temp gauge before I get the car running again, and I was just kinda curious if anyone has mounted the temp sensor in the high pressure port on the side of the trans? I'm not sure if this is an accurate spot or not, or even if it's a good idea, so I'm just looking for input.

Thanks

That's where I put mine. No problems and it reads fine.

It is on the LT side of the trans above the shifter mech. I got my temp sensor with my auto meter guage.
