Trans Mount?

So i get into my car and step on the gas..not hard at all and BANG sounds like someone hit under my car with a hammer, so i stop and start agin slowly and it is fine. Stop agin hit the gas normalyu and bang agin

Is this the trans mount? How does the mount work i looked in the book and saw it was under the trans does it hold the trans down? because what ever is banging is hitting my car upwards.

thanks
for the help!

I have replaced mine on both cars. It took me about 1 1/2 hours to do both cars.

dont bother with a stock replacement, its a mushy rubber piece of crap. get a polyurethane one from energy suspension.
