Trans gurus --->T56 conversion almost complete, have some important questions

A4 parts are out, pedals, slave cylinder and wiring are done. I do have some very important issues though.

1. I reinstalled my steering column and hooked the wiring back up but now my radio buttons don't work and my airbag light is on. Did I forget to hook them up or did you guys experience problems like this? Did I break something inside the column when I took it in/out. Please help.

2. I just took the auto trans and flex plate out. I attempted to install the pilot bushing but when I did it started to go in cocked, and now it won't go in straight. Also the surface of the bushing became gouged from the socket hitting it. I'm going to buy a new one and try again tomorrow, should I use a piece of wood to drive it instead? I know the inside surface has to be perfect because it it rides on the input shaft but will the outside lip be ok if it has a few knicks on it?

3. I successfully connected the brake lights, reverse lights, VSS and hatch release. I still need to wire the reverse lock out but I'm not sure how. I read Alex's page on the conversion but I'm still not sure exactly how to do this. Can you guys shed some light?

Please answer these in extreme detailed. Email me if you have to. Thanks for all your help so far.

Just so you all know, I updated the wiring section of my T56 conversion page with more details on the wiring of the reverse lockout and CAGS.

I don't know the answer to the bearing question.

Also, I've had airbag on for along time. It flashes 7 times (diagnostic) but stays lit. From reading the Helms, I think it is on because is has history it's memory (which doesn't go away unless you use a Tech 1).

If you have an open in the wiring to the air bag, the lamp will stay on. (not saying this is what you have or disputing what Alex said)
