Trans Am Hates Rain!!
Trans Am Hates Rain!!
everytime it starts raining my car is very hard to start (94 lt1). And today, it's been raining since the last 3 days and now it refuses to start! My plugs, wires and opti have about 8-10k on them and I can hear the gas pump prime when I try to start it. Once I get it started, the rest of the day I have no problem starting it even if the rain persist. What's more frustrating is that its so close to starting, it will spark a couples of times when I try to start it! Any ideas??
Re: Trans Am Hates Rain!!
Hmm...
When my opti went, my car wouldn't start when it rained. I'd have to wait until it dried out for a day in order to get it to start.
Just because yours only has a few miles on it doesn't mean it's not dead...unfortunately these awesome distributers can crap out in no time.

Re: Trans Am Hates Rain!!
just for peace of mind check your fuel pressure and note the attitude of your car where you park at home. sometimes when a failing fuel pump gets parked with the car nose up it has a very hard time starting, due to the wieght of the fuel in the line and the resulting increased resistance. the rest of the day you may be parked level or nose down. also for some odd reason when my pump went out it also had trouble starting in rainy or damp conditions. i dont garentee thats what it is but hey its something to check out.
