tranny trouble

ok, here's the problem:

i bought a hughes converter 2600 stall, and installed it, but it was a lemon.

then, jeg's sent me a TCI 2500 stall...the PROBLEM is that it wont fit.
it seems that my 94 z-28's 4L60E tranny is a 27-spline, while the 2500 stall is a 30 spline.

i called them, and they told me that the 2500 tci lock-up stall IS for 4L60E tranny....and yet, the damn thing doesnt have the right spline count.

what is going on???? is my tranny's spline count "wrong?" or are they smokin the crack-pipe too much??

any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Your '94 4L60E is DEFFINATELY a 30 spline input unit! The early 4L60E and the late 700 (4L60) use the same converter.

and this is the ump-teenth time that i've counted.

there are three cylinderical pieces that protrude from the tranny, and i counted the biggest one...and i get 27.

You should be counting the smaller shaft. You're counting the stator, not the input shaft. The input shaft is the one that turns.

there are three...starting out from the one that protrudes the furthest out (it is also the smallest), then the bigger one is in the middle (is medium sized), and then is the biggest (which is the biggest, and is also at the very base...attached to the tranny).

which one do i count? the smallest, the medium one, or the big one????
