Tranny - Smoke, leak, and grind
Well, my dad caught a small oil stain in my drive way the otherday, and I drove my car few a days afterwards with the small leak.
I decided to leave my car parked for a few days, and I discovered today it was a leak from the tranny. I reversed it in the drive way a couple of feet, and all of the sudden I hear (kaching, **** chong), and I smelled burning rubber, and a lot of smoke. Now there is no way the engine could have been hot when the car was not even turned on 16 seconds. I really don't know what it was. I found a huge oil stain this time from where I started the car. So the car leaks really bad when it is first started, but it does not leak at all when it is parked (well a tiny bit).
I put the car on jacks, and looked underneath, and everything but the caddy was covered in tranny oil.
Any clues?
I was thinking it was just a bad seal, or maybe a bad breather. Do you guys think I should take it to Ammco, or do you think this is an easy home fixer upper?
