Just so you guys can figure it out some day....THE ONLY engine senser used to control the transmission is the TPS senor.

The TPS and VSS are used for ALL transmission functions..including pressure control. The Program knows at xx% TPS the engine should be making xxxhp and needs 'yy amount of pressure rise to control a shift at 'zz'MPH to obtain a shift in "m" amount of miliseconds.

Do a search this has been beat to death.

Then again what do I know?

Sorry, this isn't true. If you ever get into tuning with a program like Tunercat or LT1 Edit, you will see that pressure control has to do with more than just this. I am still learning about the auto tranny in tuning (I have an M6, all I know about is the TCC and shift points so far), but I'm sure Madwolf will tell you all about what needs to be done when you change the throttle body. He has said before that you have to increase the line pressure when you go to a larger throttle body, and he does this in his tuning. Get him in here and I bet he will explain it further.

Yes Frank that is EXACTLY what you were saying. But as usual no one wanted to here it That is Why I was LMFAO

DOOM...I am VERY familar with those programs(I Wrote the trans. section help file for LT1 edit) and you need to look a little deeper at what is going on. There is very little input from other sensors save the Trans temp sensor...and it is not on the motor it is attatched to the PSM in the trans.

We have found out(thanks to Ed Write) that it does cross the RPM signal to the VSS signal to check and verify VSS operation. This causes the "High stall no shift" issue many have.

For years I was convinced the MAP sensor played a major roll(Due to the way my trans worked when I had the blower on my car) but we have found no connection at all. Turned out to be issue we are talking about here. I was running a stock ported 48mm tb then and had shift problems due to the same thing that happens when you add a bigger tb. The motor makes more HP/TQ at a lower TPS signal then the computer is programed for. This causes early/soft shift patterns. And believe me with 14# of boost they were real early and soft even with a stock TB

As far as getting a good trans built? If you are any where near Frank I would suggest you get him and/or the shop he works at to get your transmission up to speed for you

50k miles and more 11 second passes then you can shake a stick at on my FACTORY clutches and band

So, what I was saying about the voltage setting not mattering so long as you get 0 to 100% TPP is incorrect? Maybe I misread what Frank was trying to get across...

If it's not adjusted correctly after you put the new throttle body on, you're transmission will get the wrong reading, and YES, it can damage the transmission if your TPS voltage is too low!
You can laugh at me all you want and if I'm wrong then that's cool... just please let me know what is right then
