Just wondering if anyone would know any reason why my friend's car (1994 Z28 A4) won't shift into 4th gear. The fluid level is fine. I don't know much about the 4l60E's but I do know that they do not have a tv cable. So what is the extra cable attached to the throttle linkage on the throttlebody? I ask because it is very loose on this car.

Any help is appreciated, I'd rather try to fix it than tell him to take it to the dealership.

 

The last TWO times that happened to me, the 3-4 upshift clutch was toast. Take it to a tranny shop had have them look at it, to be sure.

 

One of the cables is the throttle the other is the cruise control cable.
