tranny oil

i have a leak somewhere in my transmission but when i get it fixed tomorrow i want to know what kind of oil to use or let the shop put what they think should go in?

Auto or manual? Frankly, the manual isn't too finicky. Just use a Dexron III compatible fluid. I don't think a synthetic is needed, though it sure doesn't hurt. An automatic, if it sees hard use, really needs a synthetic. One can get into a big discussion about brands. Probably not critical.
