Tranny flush?

I got a post card from the dealer saying to bring the 95Z by for the 50K maintainance The only part I was worried about was the transmission flush, they want $120 to do it, is there any thing special about the 4L60-E? Like additives, etc... That I can't just take it elsewhere to have them do it for a bit lower of a price?

Thanks in advance!

You can take it anywhere. I forget what type oil but it is common and marked in the owners manual.

Usually they will add some additives to it to clean up the inside of it. The additive will get flushed out during the flush process. I had a local place do mine. $89

50K miles on a 95 is pretty low miles. I have 72k on mine.

I did mine with around that many miles. Manual says 20k (I think). The oil did look and smell new.

Maybe also consider a radiator flush because that stuff turns bad over time.

Thanks for all replies!

The 95 has 52K
The first owners where an elderly couple that owned the car from 95-97 and put 7K on it
The second owner a mother of a little boy had it from 97-2000 and got the mileage up to 27K
We bought it from her and have got it up to where it is now

I had the dealer flush my 85 right before i bought it from them. Not just a new filter and new fluid either, a full pressurized flush. Although when i got my car, it had 99.8K on it! still looks damn good thoughˇ
