tranny died, what do I do with the stall and the cooler ?
Hi
guys my tranny died and now Im wondering what to do with the stall and the tranny cooler
I know I cant just put a new (meaning used
) tranny in there and use the stall and cooler as they are
so do I clean them or should I just replace them ? (to be safe)
please let me know what you guys think
Thank you
Dan

I'll answer that one for you
see it doesnt actually take out the TC, but it fills the TC and the cooler with little pieces of metal and if you use this same TC and cooler on a new tranny without cleaning them those little pieces of metal go into the new tranny and kill it

what do you mean the tranny died? I say that for a minor slippage. Some say that for a major blow. If it went out hard then TOSS everthing.....trans cooler and TC.

thing is I dont know for sure
here is the whole story:
I bought the car with a "tranny leak", that "tranny leak" turned out to be something more, the car died on the first day

it started slipping when changing from 2nd to 3rd gear but by the end of the day it was slipping in every single gear

now Im thinking it might of had a major blow earlier but I dont know
what do you guys think ?
Thank you

but Im wondering about the cooler, ok I can replace the aftermarket cooler , but what do I do with the stock one ? should I just cut it out ? (meaning bypass it and simply use the aftermarket one)
Thank you

I have a pretty big aftermarket cooler, but my stock one is still connected as well
I think I'll just cut the stock one out and do what you do
