Track times :(
Re: Track times :(
A thread like this is precisely why IMO this board is going to crap.
Why little known about the car tuning wise...how much KR...lean...rich...timing...others chime in that IMO really don't have a clue what they are talking about. They reference a car that someone has done considerable weight reduction and years, years of fine tuning. Frank's car runs great for what it has...but should it be the bar to measure against, in no way because most people simply are not dedicated or focused enough to ever do what he has done.
AND then let's not put into this weather, elevation, track conditions, stuff like that really means nothing right.

I dont see how drag shocks, lca's, and an electric water pump would equate to 3 mph in the quarter in roughly the same weather.
Not trying to nit pick you but how is K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit over what you have? You have a Moroso CAI listed in your sig. You also have a CAM, fuel pump, and several other things he doesnt have if you wanted to be that picky.
The car i posted wasnt supposed to be a pissing match with your car, it was just to show that a 104 trap with your mods isnt that great, like you originally posted.

Re: Track times :(
I wouldn't expect any higher than 104 with a cam, ported maf(bad idea) and no tuning.
You don't have many power making mods. Lots of little things and bolt ons.
Get it tuned right and see where you are.

You've got bolt ons, a baby cam, untouched heads, a 2600 stall and no tune. I'd say your times are pretty freaking good all things considered. With homeported heads, a HOTcam, 2800 stall, bolt ons and no tune I ran almost exactly what you did. With just a mail order tune I got down to an 8.1, keep in mind I had no weight reduction, stock suspension, etc.
You can't really compare your times to Frank95z, as to get to where he is there has been a lot more time/money/effort put into his car. You can't just slap the same cam in and expect to automatically get close to what he runs.
Your trap is a little low for now. If it doesn't come up considerably with a tune you'll need to re-evaluate your shift points.
