Re: Track times :(

That doesn't seem too bad to me considering the weather you say is bad and the fact you have a stall in there eating up some of the power that would raise the trap speed. That cam is pretty small, smaller than a hotcam or 305. So I wouldn't be too upset considering the mods you have and only cutting a 1.9 60 which isn't bad, but with those tires and stall, im sure you could cut a high 1.7 or 1.8 without breaking the rear end and get into the 12's with a lil better weather, and I wouldn't complain that much at all if you broke 12's at say 106 mph with that small of a cam and no head porting. After a tune you'll definatly see a difference. Probably a good 3 mph in the traps and a few tenths.

I believe he had some decent weight reduction also, but those #'s are sweet, especially that trap speed for a A4.

Re: Track times :(

good lord, yeah I'd say those are good numbers, thats extremely odd. I wouldn't be trying to duplicate that myself, I'd just be happy to be in the 12's with a full weight car and those mods.

Re: Track times :(

Is there a difference between the Comp Cams 210/224 and the Crane 210/224?

Seeing what F-bodies with similar mods run on the track.

Silver 95 Z28/SS* BLACK ZR1's 17x9.5 17x11 w/ nittos d/r. 3inch exhaust flowmaster,160stat, pullies, DYNASPARK, manual fan switch, LT4 KM, TPI airfoil, LT1edit, stage 3 rebuild on 4l60e w/ transgo shiftkit, 3200 stall, tb bypass, 3.73 gears, port MAF, Moroso CAI,Walbro 255 fuel pump, Hooker LT custom Y pipe, 210/224 comp cam, lt4 1.6 roller rockers, lunati lifters, .600 comp springs, harden pushrods, surfaced heads w/ smaller head gaskets

I am not trying to start an argument. I guess I have a different opinion then you. A 104 mph trap with those mods, even with not so good weather in my opinion isn't anywhere near "good".

A friend of mine with almost no weight reduction and:
D&M Built 4L60E
Motive 3.73 gears
Hooker Longtube Headers
Custom Y pipe
Comp Cams Pro Magnum 1.6 Roller Rockers
LT4 valve springs
CSR electric water pump
160 degree hyperstat
NGK tr55 v-series spark plugs
Taylor 8mm wires w/OVC wire looms
Vigilante 2800 Torque Converter
Hayden Tranny Cooler
LT4 Knock Module
Trans Go Shift Kit
March Underdrive Pullys
HALS QAL adjustable drag shocks/springs
BMR lower control arms
K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit
Flowmaster American Thunder Catback
Flowtech Cutout
Throttle body bypass
Throttle body airfoil
Hypertech Power Programmer III

Has went 12.55's@108 on a very hot and humid day with less mods.

I have also seen several other cars that even out do my friends car's ET with those modifications on cz28.com and a few other forums i prowl.

Re: Track times :(

Not all motors are created equal. Also, your 60' is really poor in comparison to Frank95z. Drag racing isnt easy unless you have a lot of experience. A guy I have seen at the track around here has run a best of 13.0xx with a stock motor, LTs and a stall(maybe few other small bolt-ons) in his 94-95 formula(100k+ miles too). His secret is he has experience... hell change shift points and adjust something on every run. You run a lot faster if you can hook the car up, get the shift points in the right place and keep the car in its power band the longest. Frank95z had his car dialed in perfectly combined with weight reduction and EXPERIENCE! At the same track some guy in a blown mustang was running low 14s at 104 mph with what he claimed put down 360 rwhp... the guy flat couldnt drive and it showed.

Re: Track times :(

I think your MPH is kinda on the low side.

And I'd recommend against running donuts on the front, their only good up to like 35MPH
