Why tyhe very low compression??? Planning to spray or boost?? If so return those and get some plain copper plugs, even if NA I would say consider a plain plug.. The exotic metals are about longevity and marketting. If you are really that into performance you wont be leaving plugs in long enough to take advantage of the reduced gap errosion.

Re: TR-55-IX plug gap?

the gaps out of the box were .050. I can't return them, so i'll just use them, i had them on my last engine as well, but it was stock. My next mod is going to be a turbo, of course after i get a different cam, but thats not going to be for awhile. i was just wondering if the gap should be smaller or larger then .050, any ideas?

For NA that gap will work fine, it is the stock gap afterall. I know some aftermarket ignitions recommend not running exotic metal plugs might just check with MSD as I am unsure of their take on this.
