TPS Issue..

Well tested my TPS with my DVM and it showed about a 1.70 when close then when the throttle was open it was high 5.XX closer to 6. I tested these number directly off the prongs in the sensor itself.

Is there a way to adjust the TPS or do they have to be replaced?

Mike

If you have those readings, you should also have an SES light and DTC 21. Do you?

Hard to see how a sensor that's supplied with a 5.0V reference signal could be reading 6V. Take the connector off and read the voltage between the black and gray wires. If it exceeds 5.0V, you have a problem with the PCM, or there voltage leaking into the harness wire at some point.

Well it doesn't actually hit 6 it is just in the higher 5's. I don't know exactly how it's possible but it does lol. These are reading I get directly at the sensor. I did not probe the wires themselves.

Yes I am throwing an SES light. Not sure what the code is as I don't have a reader yet but it does have the light. I also have an idle problem that is high sometimes, other times normal etc...
