TPIS Mini Ram

I was wondering if the TPIS Mini-Ram was worth the money. I am building a 296 stroker with AFR 220cc heads and need an intake to flow as good as the head? Any opinion will be appreciated.

Thanks

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that they will not just bolt up to, and match an LT1/4 head. You would have to factor in the price for machine work to get the piece to fit. Also, im not sure if they would clear a stock hood or not?

Also, for what its worth, alot of TPIS's stuff is useless.

My gf bought me their book, LT1 hints and tips, or whatever it is. And it honestly, no bs, was almost page for page identical to their catalog, except they profited off of it. I guess thats how they pay to send out free catalogs

The miniram is practically a LT1 intake.

Hah, I never realized that. Thats kind of comical though. But not that you mention it, it does look close to the same dimensions, even the ports, theirs not that big of a difference.

I think you would be better off with a good port matched LT4 intake. Or some kind of conversion?

Re: TPIS Mini Ram

The TPIS mini ram was disigned for TPI guys who wanted to actually make some upper RPM horse power where the aftermarket TPI intakes just dont perform above 5k. Its designed after the LT1 intake. Its pretty much worthless. There are little to no gaines over the LT1 intake and for $1300 you have to be F-ing kidding me!!! They are just too proud of that intake IMO. Im not sure what kinda car you have but if you have an LT1 just port your intake and open it up for a 58mm t-body and be done.
