TPiS long tubes with true duals...anyone?
TPiS long tubes with true duals...anyone?
I'm about to have my local muffler shop install 2.5" true duals on my car. What mufflers did you go with? I'm assuming the sound won't be THAT different as compared to another set of long tubes, so Bullet, Twister or Borla...plus how long were the mufflers? 12", 18"?
Anyone done true duals with TPiS long tubes? How was the final ground clearance?
Thanks guys!

You gotta be pushing a lot more power than is provided with H/C to utilize a 3" true dual...plus I dont want the bad clearance issues that come with it...
If thats what you were planning on doing, you better watch the clearance with having your car already lowered...

I've seen a stock height T/A w/ 3" true duals, he had great ground clearance, wouldn't have any issues when it's lowered. On his BONE stock 01 WS6 (paper filters and stock tires and all) he went from 105 mph to 109 mph in the 1/4 just going to a 3" true dual. After seeing the car, and talking to him, I know he could make it to fit nice. Matt has the same setup in his SS as a true dual, except it's a single 3" pipe dumping before the axle, and he has plenty of ground clearance (and his is lowered almost 2"). Both are better than a 3" catback anyway, so why not go for it, just make sure you get an X pipe, on a street car they're necessary for optimum power out of a true dual.

Yeah dump it before the rear axle. Next time you're thru town come look at his car, and I'll get ahold of my other friend w/ the 3" true duals, you can see the good ground clearance, I'm sure he'll take you for a ride as well, it's damn impressive.
