TPIS Lil Chubs cam for LT4 Auto?
TPIS Lil Chubs cam for LT4 Auto?
A dude on a corvette forum is selling this cam and it says it would work for TPi and LT engines. Never heard about, not many search results either. Just curious what you guys might think about a combo, how it would drive. Good, bad, iffy.. assuming full exhaust LT4, 1.7 rockers, 3.23s, 2000 converter, tune?

Re: TPIS Lil Chubs cam for LT4 Auto?
No specific experience or advice to share; just some thoughts:
- I’ve been on these forums nearly twenty years and haven’t heard of that cam. So I’ll venture to say it’s not well known, and you’re not likely to find anyone here who can share specific experience with it.
- The reliable go-to for LT1/4 cams where you’ll actually find knowledgable advice and support is Lloyd Elliot. He makes a few different ones, and has a reputation for offering great advice over the phoneI
- With 1.7 rocker and any aftermarket cam, you’ll need to be super careful about piston-to-valve clearance!
Re: TPIS Lil Chubs cam for LT4 Auto?
Could you clarify what “a full exhaust LT4” means? Do you have LT4 heads and intake, LT4 HOT cam, LT4 internals, etc.?
I agree with everything JakeRobb said above. TPIS was known for their “ZZ-“ series cams. And I believe most of those date from the mid to late 1990’s. Never heard of the “lil chubs” cam. It's listed separately from all the other TPIS cams.

Re: TPIS Lil Chubs cam for LT4 Auto?
It's a legit stock LT4, with long tubes and slp 2otl exhaust with a 700r4. I was hoping someone more literate in cam numbers than me could figure out this rare cam and how it would run in an LT4. It says it's for LTX and TPI cars. It's at .500 lift with 1.5s, with 1.7s it should still be under .600. Theoretically, with the 1.7s, midrange would be increased even more and couod make a real fun street car with power increase everywhere in the rpm band up to 6500 redline. Just curious if I'm correct in that assumption.
