towing will make engine blow?

well twice now ive told that my lt1 engine could not handle the load of a 1/2 ton or full ton truck...

i was told that i would blow my engine up trying to attempt this.

i was told by someone that my car couldnt tow 1000lbs, but i know that the manual says the max is 1000 lbs.

but knowing the suspension wasnt an issue and maybe the rear axel wasnt either, or brakes, is the engine capable of towing a load of say 5-6000 lbs?

I towed my 2 jet ski's and double trailer for 2 years weighing about 1200lbs with no problem. You’re not going to hurt the motor, the transmission might be a problem with out a trany cooler or be hard on the clutch if it's a M6. The body doesn't have a full frame so I would recommend a set of sub frame connectors to handle the weight.

My 2 cents
Brian

As stated, the motor should be fine, it's the rest of the driveline that I'd worry about. Especially the stock 10 bolt rearend which is not the pillar of strength that some GM engineer thought it would be.
