Torque difference on Hotcam; c305; 224/230

I'm looking at these three cams, but more so on the c305 and the 224/230. I'm looking for good lowend torque, but also one that I'm not going to regret not going a little bigger. I also plan on having my heads ported when I do a cam swap with rockers (And long tube headers also). Thanks!

Definately go with the CC05 or the 224/230. They are both great cams. The CC305 definately starts it's TQ sooner than the 224/230. In my opinion, you need to rev too high to get the full benefit of the 224/230. The 224/230 is great with ported heads.

It seems that every time I see a guy running a CC305, his 1/4 mile times are smoking fast.

Personally, I'm looking at something very similar. I've pretty much decided on the CC502, which is a step lower in duration
than the 224/230. The 502 is 218/224 with a lift of 0.526/0.536

To me, it has the perfect TQ curve for what I'm looking for. I plan to rev to 6200, and this cam has great low end and enough top end to do well all the way out to 6200 rpm One guy on this site has dynoed 343RWHP/343RWTQ with that cam and shorty headers and unported heads. It might be a little small if you plan to port your heads though in the future.

Sure does. Beautiful TQ!

Too bad we don't get that TQ with the stock LT1 with the Hotcam. That's one nice thing about the Hotcam. The TQ curve is very wide, but the TQ numbers are a little lower than the other mentioned cams.
