torque arm trouble

I have a 95 trans am that i have snapped 2 torque arms with in the last month. The first one i can kind of understand. I was droping the clutch about 3500. and it just snapped right at the the transmission. The smallest point of it. Well a buddy of mine had an old one laying around so i put it in. Drove fine i havent even really got on it. Just some normal cruising. Well i take that back i raced like twice. Well last night i was going to the track and i was going from 5 to 6 just to cruise out there and i heard a pop. So i turned down the radio and was listening and nothing. So i shifted to 5 and pop. I was like damn it. I broke again. Let me give a little history on the car. It was a auto car that i tuned into a 6 speed. I didnt have a different torque arm just had to buy a different torque arm bushing. That has been about a year ago now. I have had no problems. Well i put a vortech s trim on in jan and since i have blown 2 torque arms in the last month. Can anybody help me i would be greatful. Thanks Waylon

Did you check the tranny and engine mounts to see if the hole mess is rotating and breaking the torgue arm? Or can you tell which way it's bending when it breaks? Maybe the rear is rotating too much due to something else wrong.

Try Tubular rear control arm bars or adjustable ones on the rear, that should help with your rear turning too hard, and it might save your tourque arm.

A4 is slightly longer, and has a different mounting bracket. Junk the stockers. I broke two, and I broke an lg motorsports tq. Now I got a Spohn and I like it a lot!

I would start saving for a aftermarket one. Also with the car on jack stands not on the rearend I would grab ahold of the rear and move it up and down with the tq arm removed and see if something else may be wrong or out of the ordiary. Has the car been lowered any?

Did you get that 230/236 cam installed yet?
