Anyone know what the stock 95z28 has as a top speed? (limiter?)
I tried to bury the needle but i hit around 220kmph(138mph?) a point where the engine kinda felt like it was choking... is this my speed limiter maxing out? I didn't get a chance to look at the rpm's as i was kinda concentrating on the road (its an a4). If it wasnt for the choking she felt strong and could have gone a good bit more i'd think...

I haven't tried my current 95, but the 2.73 A4 95TA I used to own went 248km/h (154mph) I had to hold it in 3rd gear to do it though, when I tried it in drive it shifted to 4th too early and would only pull about 238km/h.

R&T got a 3.23 A4 95TA to do 158mph, so I know my numbers were correct.

 

suppose to hit 158... I let off at 148 but it was still pulling

 

Yea i did this in 3rd (no overdrive). I didnt shift it to overdrivet to see whatit would do. Is that choking sound the enging hitting the limiter? I have 3.43 gears so i suppose it would make if your 2.73 trans am made it slightly faster in 3rd...

 

If you got to 138 it shouldn't have been the speed limiter that comes in about 108-112 or so...
Did you reprogram when the 3.42's were put in?

 

Sorry I got confused (pulled out my option code sheet) i have 3.23 gears in the rear (stock). Does my car have a Speed AND a rev limiter? Did i hit my max revs in 3rd?

 

i think the limiter was 108... but i been hearen you can get up to 167... with 2:73's?

 

I've had my car up to about 145 with plenty left. You're probably bouncing off of the rev limiter....I'd go ahead and let it shift into fourth.
