Top Speed?

I have a 93' pretty much stock, with 2.73 gears. It has the A4 trans.
The other night I went to top out my car, and it did about 115 and then hit that cutoff.
My Speedo only goes to 115.
I've heard of these things going upwards of 150+ mph.
Just curious as to how I could make mine do that.
I think I saw somewhere about programming it.
Idk any help would be appreciated.

+1. Although I don't recommend it if you don't have tires to back it up...

Better yet just don't do it I've gotten way to many tickets for stupid ****...

Unless you want to do it yourself you can get a mail order tune.

Fyi doing it yourself takes a lot of pc know how and understanding ecm/pcm's.

Mine was done at pcmforless.com but I have alot of the know how for tuning so I'm buying my setup next month to do my own work.

Your car probably didnt come with Z rated tires factory, so your car was limited to 110-115 for safety reasons.

No 4th Gen left the factory with 255/55-16's. I think you'll find it had 235/55-16's.

Since you have a 93, your "tuning" options are limited. You have to have a new chip burned.

When my VSS was disconnected I made 130. My friend was pasting me his Maxima. He could not keep up the pace so that's where I've been. That's with the Formula wearing GS-C's on all four corners. Man..those were some good tires.

Doing 150 mph on the streets is stupid. They make tracks for a reason. Too many people have been killed because of people try to see how fast their cars are. i wouldn't do it.

Hypertech does not make a hand-held for the 93, because the 93 ECM can not be flash programmed. It has a removable chip.

yep, i had a hypertech stage 2(make sure its the one that requires the thermostat upgrade because the base one didn't pull the limiter off) chip in my 93. it pulled the top speed limiter and thats about the only gain i noticed
