top end trouble

i was on my home from a small gathering last evenin and decided to do a lil pull...i downshifted to 3rd at 65 or so and laid into it, ripped 4th and broke the century mark at about 4500 the car started to break up and studder pretty badly, this is the first time the car has ever done this, it rips thru 1st, 2nd and 3rd with no problems whatsoever...i didnt want something bad to happen so i stopped the pull there and cruised home at the speed limit....at no other time has my car ever done this so i was suprised, and im still pondering what it could have been....im gonna put my stock coil back in (blaster now) cuz it did the same thing to my bro's truck when he had it in there, but does anyone have any other reasons to why this would happen?

Re: top end trouble

If it did the same thing in your brothers truck than most likely it's just that the coil is going bad, it's pretty common in these cars. If that doesn't cure it however, than do a search on the board for "hesitation". That will keep you busy for a couple of hours.
