Why ask for help and then ignore it?

Most auto supply places sell KD tools.

A cam is held in by 3 bolts, right?

Yeah I gave up. I decided that it wasn't going to be worth the trip. SAR2K beat me to the punch.

Shoebox, Sorry I was just asking if anyone had a Tutorial on how to do it the piston way b/c I was not familiar with it.

96TAblur thanks I am glad you like it, I got the hood from US exotics Talk to Roger and tell him that BEN from Arkansas sent you. IF you would have talked to me 6 months ago I would have sold it to you. I have a LS1 Ram air Front clip now. I love the LS1 look.

Ramair95TA, I know I would love to go ahead and just throw throw the bumpstick in but I have heard many time of people ruining there motors b/c of spun bearing (happen to a buddy of mine.) I believe it happen to shoebox at one time as well. I am going to PM SAR2k and ask him about his setup, I was just looking at the article yesterday when he was in GM high tech about being a 12 second Bolton car. He works at Thunderracing so I could just give them a call and ask for him. Thanks for the help guys.

I wouldn't run stock springs with 1.6 rockers. LT4 springs aren't very expensive and they should be better at high rpms since they are a little bit stiffer than LT1 springs.

Bud M, I have used a K-D brand spring compressor and frankly it was rather mediocre, although it beats the Lysle design. Why? Well, it doesn't work with dual springs or a single spring with a dampner very well. With single springs it works o.k. I actually used the K-D once to do a set of springs and it was a chore. The best tool I have used is the Moroso brand lever type compressor. It was about $80 but was worth it. I even was able to use it for the spings under the cowl. I also never had to worry about it slipping off the spring like the hand twist design compressors with the little arms that grab the coils.

No, but have a Lylse compressor tool for sale. I sure don't need it anymore.

I found out about that tool from an engine builder/friend that loaned it to me. I then bought one from Summit (I think). Here is the Moroso link to the tool page:
