Took off hub...did i mess this up?

I was able to take off the hub today, but the only way to crank the puller and not have the crank go in circles was to wedge a screw driver in the flywheel. I put it in a hole on the flywheel and let the screwdriver press against the block where the starter goes. Did i mess anything up here by doing that? Thanks.

I'm probably going to do the same to screw the hub back on, so i want to make sure that nothing bad will happen.

I used a breaker bar wedged between 2 bolts on the hub and kept force downward on it. Worked great.
