too much spark advance???
too much spark advance???
Just installed a cam and I'm having trouble with the car running bad. The car runs fine (for a couple of minutes) if you start it after it has been sitting all night. But then it starts to have a slight miss and a poping sound, not a back fire out of the exhaust?? Now it is really obvious when you try taking off in first gear. I ran a scan on it and the only thing that I can see that dosn't look right is that at idle my spark advance is 24 and once I start to push on the gas to go it jumps to 45 and is maxed out it looks like. Could this be causing this problem? Can or should I bump up the max timing with tunercat? I've already done all of the basic things such as plugs and wires. The wires are all in the right position. The timing chain is lined up dot to dot. I'm about fed up. Will the dealership be able to see more on their computer than what I'm seeing with freescan and datamaster??? Thanks
