Too much oil?

What does having too much oil in the car do? I checked the stick, and there's too much in there. Don't ask how much. And no, there's no coolant in it either. I think I F'd up.
Also, after the car is warmed up, so after a long drive, the whole catback bounces around. I mean it really moves along with the idle of the engine, and I have this intermittent knock. It's not with each rotation, just a loud deep knock that can be heard anywhere between 5-8 seconds apart. I can only hear it at idle, standing by the drivers side front tire.
I feel like something bad, and expensive, is about to come my way.
Thanks

Drain some of the oil out. To much oil will cause seals tp blow up which means oil leaks.

I'm going to do that this week, whenever it decides to stop raining! It seems the engine is out of balance, and every few seconds kind of "catches up", if that makes sense. There's alot of side to side movement at idle. Don't know what the big pulley up by the top on the pass. side (balancer) is, but when the engine is running, it seems that it wobbles, or doesn't spin true.
