Found Shermin Williams with Toluene at $8.50/Gal. Thanks... I'll go that route.
By the way, what type of oil are you suggesting to add? I read in one of the mix web pages to add a few ounces of ATF as a lubricant. Seems to me that would make a lot of smoke.

If this is going in the '95 I don't know why you would even need more octane than regular pumop gas unless something is wrong...
Why not just get some Motorsport 103 unleaded at the track for $1.25/gallon and be done with it? Any more octane than is needed to prevent knock is a waste of money and actually slows you down.

Two reasons for the octane booster....
1) I've got knock at 4000-6000 RPM and I want to verify it is or isn't false knock. If it goes away, then it is real knock.
2) I race in the Nevada Silver State Challenge Events which requires good octane to reduce detonation with 128*F Temps for 90+ miles. That car has a 32 Gallon Steel Fuel Cell so it will need quantity when it comes to octane boosting... 11:1 compression on Iron heads.
Thanks guys... I'm off to Sherwin Williams after work tonight.

Xylene, toluene, benzene are all good at slowing down the burning process of gasoline, while retaining high BTU's. At what mixture of these you would need would require some research. Adding oil kills the increase in octane. It's hard to believe that I used to get toluene for $.50 a gallon in the very early 70's.
