Tire questions...

I can get a pair of Potenzas put on my car for $375 out the door. These are of course Z-rated, 285/40/17s.

I've never owned these tires. Opinions?

I'm assuming that's all four corners...yes that's a great deal! I just ordered 2 Kumho ECSTA Supra 712's for the rear because I got into a bad accident about a week ago and caught a wet spot on the road and spun it 5 times.

I got the two from TireRack.com for $83 a piece, which is a great deal. Discount Tire has them every day for $125 each so I figured what the heck.

So yes that's a great deal. I'm sure they're better tires than my Kumho's I just got...

Last time I checked, a "pair" is "two".

Tire Rack has 275/40-17 Potenzas for $338 for a "pair". You would have to add shipping, mounting and balancing. They do not list a 285/40-17 in the Potenza line.

That price is for two, not four.

It's a friend of mine that manages a local Firestone that offered me that price, mounted, balanced, etc. Is that not a good deal? Is there a better tire for my car in that size at a comparable price? I hate road noise, so no PepBoy specials please.

Wish I could afford Goodyears.

BFG G-force KDW 245/50 for $120 each. That's balanced, everything, ect. Awesome tire. Not your size but shouldn't be too much more.

Go to Tire Rack and look at the "Survey" results for the tires you are considering.... covers wet and dry traction, cornering, road noise, ride comfort, tread wear, etc..... They also have test results for some tires, and "reviews".

If you put in 275/40-17, you will get 45 different tires to choose from. Compare the Potenza to others, both price and survey results.

I had Pirelli P7000's on my Z and I liked them a lot. It also cost me over $800.00 for four of them though
