tire??
I had this posted in wheels and tires and dint get any replies, i need tires asap and need a answer. Sorry
Im lookin at gettin 295/r50/r16s for my rears, bfgoodrich radial ta's. Does it really matter that they arent Z rated, i dont drive 150+. And will They fit in my wheel wells on my 95 Z28 on stock rims?

The sidewall "number" is not a "height".... it is the "aspect ratio". "50" means that the sidewall is 50% of the section width. "295" is the section width = 11.6" wide. Sidewall = 0.5 X 11.6 = 5.8" sidewall. Two sidewalls + wheel diameter = (2 X 5.8) + 16 = 27.6" diameter.
That tire is 2" larger than the stock tires, will raise the back of your car 1" more off the ground, will poke up 1" more into the wheel well, and will cause your speedo to read more than 4% lower than true speed (55.6mph indicated at a true 60mph). It will also feel, performance-wise, like you swapped in 4% lower numerical rear gears.... a set of 3.42's will feel like 3.18's.
You do not need Z-rated tires if you don't drive that fast. Typically a Z-rated tire will be better built, and will provide more stability and improved dynamic response, but if all you are after is a wide-tire look, they will certainly provide that.... sort of a 4WD effect.

And I just checked the "Wheel & Tire" forum, and I already answered this question for you. How can you claim you didn't get any replies? Next time I'll know better than to waste my time answering your questions.
With any luck, Bret will move this post back to "Wheels & Tires" where it belongs
