Timing cover question

Is it bad to tighten the timing cover too much? I misread the torque settings and tightened it a lot more than it should be. I didn't want to back it off though because of the gasket. I really don't want to go buy a new gasket and re do it, so if it won't cause any problems I will leave it.

Thanks guys

As long as you didn't brake any bolts over-torquing it, you're fine.

*Did you try backing that bolt out?

One of the bolts snapped, but it is one that is close to where the opti is going to bolt in, so I was hoping I would be ok. Do you think that will be fine?

(I believe the bolt that broke was the one right to the right of the top center bolt looking at the cover)

I can't back it out because it snapped off...so I guess no I didn't try backing it out.

Oh, well a certain someone (won't mention any names) broke one of my timing cover bolts and was able to back it out. Got lucky on that one.

Hehe gotcha, do you think it will be alright though, with just that one bolt that snapped? Or do I have to get it out?
