timing cover compatibility
Alright, I'm fed up with trying to find a 31mm freeze plug for the waterpump driveshaft seal area of the timing cover and I went to use stainless steel washers to plug it, but I got carried away with the dremel and accidentally grinded too much off the inside of the cover. I need to know if ANY other vehicle out there shares the same bolt pattern and same size crank and cam holes on the timing cover. I have the OBD I conversion and therefore don't need the CPS anymore and also have the CSI pump, so I don't need that hole anymore. Perhaps someone on this board will know if maybe and older chevy or such has a timing cover I could order to put on my LT1. I'm sick of the stupid issue! It's keeping me from fininshing the mods in my sig!!

Dude instead of getting a 31mm plug what I did was found a plug that fit in the SMALL hole itself.. I don't remember the size
But dude just pull the cover or measure it with a dial caliper and go to your local autoparts store, tell them to bust out their clevite catalog, then someone in there is a section that lists all the freeze plug sizes clevite makes.. Just match one that fits your size and BOOM good to go.
The one that I found fit PERFECTLY inside that tiny round hole, but it wasn't like a press fit so what i did was just put copper sealant ALL OVER the FRONT & BACK of the seal, gooped that $hit on everywhere
Then just let it cure.. NO MORE waterpump seal to deal with ever & no more leaks
Been like that for about a year and a 1/2 now

I meant to patch up his timing cover, not to use inside the motor.

Either way, copper silicone works just fine, that $hit will harden plenty
