Timing cover
I can't remember for sure which size I used, but it was standard and really slightly too large (bought it at NAPA). I had to grind the outside edge pretty heavily to make it work, and coated the edge with silicone sealer before tapping it in. There is probably a metric plug that is a better fit, but they didn't have any. You could also have it welded shut.
I'd just take the cover to the parts store and see if they can find you a plug that'll fit and work. Are you doing a cam or something? If not that was a lot of work for nothing as the pump will fit with the old driveshaft in place.
I just used two large washers that covered the hole, a bolt, a locking nut (or nut with lock washer) and some RTV. I did grind down the inside of the cover flat. Works perfect. Make sure to check the clearance of the washer to the timing chain if you're using a double roller.
I am doing a cam swap and just wanted to get rid of the drive shaft since I was in there anyways. Wanted to plug up the hole without having to jerry rig it. I know somebody out there knows which plug I should use. Thanks for the inputs though.
