Timing Chain options?

I am about to install the Xe230/236 cam with a set of P&P heads.

I am getting conflicting oppinions on a timing chain.

Most say just put in a new timing chain and you will be fine.
Other say you really need a heavy duty chain - either the LT4 extreme duty set or others.

What options are out there besides the LT4 set?

LT4 Extreme Duty is very $$$.
I installed the Cloyes Double Roller, you must use a electric pump in order to use it. $85 chain $130 for pump versus $250 or more for Extreme Duty chain.

I know there must be some other options out there, but this is what worked for me.

I really didn't want to go to an electric pump, especially since I do a lot of road course duty and I am not sure it would to the job cooling enough.

But I am sure curious about other options. I would like to avoid the $$$ LT4 set.

I am only changing the chain with a GM stock replacement. It's all you really need.

Are you planning on revving the car high?? If you are going to do roadracing I would recommend getting an LT4 extreme Timing chain.

I will be mostly open tracking the car and revs will reach 6200-6300, but not very many hanging high RPM's.. just jumps up that high.
