Timing chain issues

I was wondering if the stock timing chain will be too weak for my setup.I replace the chain during the rebuild(i know i should have gone with the LT4ED ) But money and time issues forced me to go with a stock replacement. A guy at the machine shop said it will be ok, but i have herd of the slipping and breaking teeth off. I have a high rpm slip about half of the time in 4500 to 5500 range. I am goin to replace it eventually but just need to know where to put this project on the list. Bottom line is it strong enough??

It's strong enough until it breaks. How's that. Honestly a new stock chain works fine. It's the slack, bad time, etc that makes them a not-so-good idea. Prone to breakage more then something sturdier. So long as you dont turn much higher then stock rpms, itll be fine. I'd look elsewhere though, soon.
