Timing chain cover leaking - time to do other things?

Okay, so I'm leaking some oil from the timing chain cover. I guess it's a waste just to fix the leak by itself, right? Is this a chance to do something else while I have it apart?

You might as well change the timing set while you have it apart and maybe consider an electric water pump.

LOL, exactly my thought too. I waited with a horrible leak at the oil pan gasket for who knows how long. After unsuccessful attempts to fix the leak myself for free, I figured, let's do a large cam and head swap I guess you also might as well do the timing chain and electric water pump too.

Then that means you have to pull the intake to get at the lifters so you might as well pull the heads after that too

At the very least all new seals for the timing cover and a new chain if you have a bit of miles on your engine. But if it's in your budget and you feel confident enough to do it, throw a nice streetable cam in there.
