Timing Chain Cover
Timing Chain Cover
Doing a cam swap and going with the Cloyes True Double Roller Timing Chain. I already have an electric WP, so I just removed the old water pump drive shaft. Can I leave the hole in the block open or does it need to be plugged?
I did some research and found out that I can just plug the hole in the timing chain cover for the water pump with a freeze plug but don't know about the hole in the block.

Re: Timing Chain Cover
I agree, hole in block is ok. Little tip--the freeze plug is a PITA to find, I couldn't locate one. Instead, use a 1/2 dollar (may have to go to a bank to get one
) and some JB Weld (Autozone, Napa). The 1/2 dollar fits perfectly, and looks kinda cool
