Timing Chain Cloyes Vs Lt4 On 383

ok i have a 383 short block on a 94 z-28 on the way and i was debating whether to go with the double roller from cloyes or the lt4 heavy duty chain is it worth the modification to go with the cloyes and if so what tools would i need

I use the LT4 ED and spin it to 6800 all day long

The ED isn't worth the extra $ and most will agree that the cloyes is the better route.

All you need is a dremel or air grinder.

well, I have had two LT4 sets grenade on me, I have a stroker, and I actually RARELY reved past 5500.... so take it for what its worth. My wp gear ate the **** out of my cam gear, twice. So I know it wasn't just crappy heat treating one time. Other people have had luck with it, I have not. So, I am going e wp this time and deleting that cam drive crap. Im going cloyes!

Make sure you put some assembly lube on the timing chain and sprockets, install the cover, turn the motor over by hand, and remove it to see if it's rubbing anywhere. As Javier said during my cam install, "better safe than metal shavings".
