Timing chain and cam dowel pin orientation

I'm going to be changing the opti in my car this weekend and while I'm doing this, I wanted to verify that the timing chain is installed correctly due to some other problems I've been having with this motor. I'm concerned that the chain might be installed 1 tooth off.

I don't want to have to pull the timing cover so I'm going to try and judge if it is installed correctly by the location of the cam dowel pin and the crank keyway. (the dots on the gears will not be visible)

I'm wondering if anyone can confirm these measurements for me. I believe if installed correctly and when the cam dot is at 6 o'clock and the crank dot is at 12 o'clock, the cam dowel should be at exactly 3 o'clock or 90 degrees counterclockwise of the dot on the cam gear?

Also, the crank keyway seems to be located exactly 45 degrees clockwise from the dot on the crank gear.

So I'm asuming that if I pull the opti and the crank hub and turn the motor so the cam dowel is at exactly 3 o'clock I should find the crank keyway exactly 45 degrees clockwise from the vertical, correct?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

It kinda sets high of the 90 but its pretty close on the one I have setting in the garage.
And yes the keyway on the crank is about at the 45 angle.
