With you're mods, I'd look into a heavier chain like the LT4 Extreme Duty Timing Chain. I know it isn't what you asked but since your engine looks stout, it should have a good chain.

Why waste the money on the lt4HD unit when he could get a double roller for about $250 less and have a stronger chain???? He already has a electric h20 pump.

I can see that if he has the electric water pump (listed in the sig) then the double roller would be a better option. But, with a double roller, won't you need a new timing cover too?

Actually, he hasn't indicated if this is for his car or a buddy's.

Well I had a cloyes DR behind my 95 timing cover with no problems. But i have heard some people have to grind a little for it to clear.

Cloyes... that's quality. I've heard some company sell the Cloyes for $400. I think it was Speedomotive. I'll be doing mine this summer. Any good leads?

Four hundred dollars is alittle high. You can get the same chain from summit or jegs for like eighty-ninety dollars. Just order the one for the third gen(part #9-3145?). Its a true double roller. Install it straight up with no advance or retard. What I dont understand is that you can do this and an electric water pump set up for about half the cost that will beat the hell out of the factory chain and pump.

I don't mean to be a thread stealer, but since you're answering some good question. I've got another....

How is the electric pump in stop-and-go traffic? Does it very speed with RPMs?

The electric pump does not vary speed with rpm, Had mine on for a year now with no problems (yet)

I had a question about the double roller chain from jegs, does that include the sprockets as well?
