Time to rebuild the T-56

My friend blow the syncros in his LS1 T-56, now it is time to get it fixed. We found a site that sells a syincro kit for $230 and well rebuid it for $250 plus all the bs to get it from CA to MI and he said it would take him 2-9 weeks , he he know the T-56 and has done it before. So we checked so local transmition shops and they want $1,200 to rebuild it plus the parts from the guy in MI. Do you think it is worth all the bs to have the guy in MI fix it, or spend the $$ to have it done localy by a guy that probly hasn't touch a t-56.

I'd take a look at the shipping and overall cost and compare them, then go from there. By the way, do you have a link or something to this place that you're talking about? I'm gonna need a rebuild eventually.

If you ship it to me I just redid mine and runs perfectly, better than ever. It would cost the same to ship it to me in Ohio and will get it done in two days. Name the price, $100 maybe, I just like helpin people out, dont really need the money. No credentials, just a thought.

I got a steel (Tremec) 3-4 shift fork and a rebuild kit from The Gear Box (also in MI) for $223 delivered.

The kit included:

All sychros (1-2 are 3 piece; 6 pieces total)
Brass reverse; all others are Kevlar

Sychro keys and clips

Front and rear seals

Shifter cup bushing

Tailshaft housing bushing

All shifter fork keys

Pretty good value and great service I thought!
